✧Druve (Closed Species)✧

The Druve are a closed species created by me (VelunoArt) with the help of a few friends.♡

In the world of Elevandrea, there is a new species, the Druve. Druve are a species created hundreds of years ago, coming from the beautiful Dryads of the forest, the ever intelligent Druids, and the noble elves of the city. Long ago in Elevandrea, Dryads, Druids, and Forest Elves worked tirelessly to protect the forests of the land. However, humans and other species started attacking them, and the forests, to gain control, their magic, and to deforest the land for bigger cities. Dryads, Druids, and the Forest Elves would be used for their magic that was connected to the earth. Even murdered, using their essence to create potions and such to give magic to the other species. They were hunted so heavily, they needed help to protect the forests they love and call home.Leaders of the three species came together beneath a large oak tree hidden deep in the forest, said to be over five thousand years old. They took sap from this tree, and used the three of their magic to create a small pod, then planted it beneath the tree. Within a few months, the new species, they deemed them the name Druve, was born. They had the genetics of Dryads, Druids, and Forest Elves, but truly came from the earth.The Druve had two forms, a “true” form, and a “cloaked” form. True forms were them as they truly are, which consisted of having antlers, or horns, that grew beautiful leaves and flowers from different trees and plants, as well as animal markings, like a tiger’s stripes, or a fawn’s spots. The forms also had a thing they called a rune, somewhere on their body. These runes correlated with their cores, or core types. As they are part of the world around them, they have magic based around their cores. A few common examples are the four elements, fire, water, earth, and air. But there were many more cores, and new ones are discovered often. Their other form, the cloaked form, let them roam the cities, appearing as elf children. Their antlers, markings, and runes are all hidden by a special spell only they can cast. It keeps them safe from the species out there that wish to abuse them, as they abused the Dryads, Druids, and Forest Elves.The only species the Druve trust are elves, Dryads, Druids, and other nymph like creatures. These species have been taught to protect the Druve species that are their distant cousins, as they keep their forests alive.The Druve live in magically protected villages in the forest, cloaked and invisible to everyone, except the ones they deem worthy with the sight to see them. Their homes are built into and on trees, along with using magic to make homes and places out of mushrooms and other things at the roots of the trees, and underground. They are special creatures, and only a few have been captured in their history. The humans and such want them more than they wanted the Druve’s creator species but for now, they are safe among the trees they were born from. And each year, Druve travel across the world to their home tree the very first Druve was created from, to rejoice and celebrate their lives, and the ones before them.

Welcome to the mutation called Lunar Linked. This can happen if a Druve is born under a full, blue, or supermoon. Its rare in all types, but especially rare in types like Moon, Night, Water, and these are just of what has been recorded thus far. There's no telling what other types this is even more rare for.When a Druve is Lunar Linked, their eyes take on phases of the moon. They follow it directly, meaning if its a waxing crescent for 4 days, their eyes will reflect this as well. Blue moons and supermoons result in the entire eye looking of that of a moon.And what happens when it starts to change? Blindness. New Moon is the only time they have full vision. The more of your moon you see, the less they can see. Full moon phase makes nearly entirely blind, only allowing them to see shadows. However, during blue and supermoons, they are completely, fully, blind. During Full and these other types of moons, the Druve with this mutation will often be taken care of and looked after by Moon, Night, and water types. The older they get the more they can do things on their own, but they'll always have a guide prepared. And each Lunar Linked Druve has a friend for their lifetime!They are called Puff Pups, they come from the same pod plants as the Druve itself was born from! They're little fluffy puff balls that are the size of a Druve's hand, growing with the Druve. Their guides help train the Puff Pups to aid them, and Puff Pups will bury themselves under the hand of their Druve, being held onto and guided during hard times of visiblity. Puff Pups carry around a pollen like powder that has a special smell only the Druve it belongs to can smell in helping them around too. And when a Druve passes, the Puff Pup will follow them to their grave and turn to dust atop them to join them in the afterlife.While the main sign of a Druve being Lunar Linked is their eyes, they have other signs as well! Their colors will always be muted and pale. And their colors will change as well! Where as a Druve can have light brown hair, it'll be muted, dull. But come time of a full moon their colors will change to nearly white. Blue moons? They turn a very pale shade of blue. And would you believe it if I said they turn a pale pink for supermoons?!This is a mutation, and while its beautiful in some ways, it does make the Druve's life harder. They haven't found a way to lighten it, or heal it, not even with magic. But they've found ways to help. Lunar Linked Druve are vulnerable, and they usually are never to leave the village. Because Lunar Linked is only in Druve, so if they're spotted by hunters, well.. You get the point. But do not fret if your Druve is born Lunar Linked, they will be desginated a guide right away, and have a little friend to grow and live with them!
